About
Dr Thandi Portia Zimu
General Practitioner (GP) · Medi-Hope Centre · Practice no. 0425532
Dr Zimu obtained her MBChB from the University of the Free State in 2005 and has spent her career in community-facing general practice across Ekurhuleni. She cares for patients of every age — from infants and expecting mothers to older adults managing long-term conditions.
Her approach is unhurried and practical: listen properly, explain the diagnosis in plain language, and agree on a treatment plan the patient actually understands. Where specialist input is needed, she refers early and stays involved.
Alongside general practice she is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) performing impairment and disability assessments, and holds a diploma in aesthetic medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.
